NVD

NVD or National Vehicle Distribution handles the transport of vehicles for dealerships across the UK and Ireland.

Product Summary

In conjunction with NVD’s IT team, we developed a mobile and web application that supported their businesses day-to-day operations.

This web and mobile system allows dealers working with NVD  to place orders, gain a real time understanding of where their orders might be and add on additional components (such as tow bars) to their orders.

The system also allows the NVD management to handle operations internally.

Technical Description

We utilised a modern technology stack along with integrating leading services to deliver a highly performant and effective platform. As we were responsible for the front end of the platform the management of servers was handled by the client for this project.

Technical Setup

The architected solution consisted of the following:

API: This was handled by NVD internally

Dashboard: React (JavaScript)

Servers: AWS (Managed by NVD internally)

Database: Postgres (AWS RDS)

Payments Processor: Stripe (This allows for orders to be made)

Continuous integration: Heroku

Continuous Delivery: Heroku + GitHub

Interesting Notes

As a large section of this app is being used by NVD’s clients (i.e. dealers) we pitched and built a number of white labelled versions of the web and mobile app.

This allowed NVD to upsell dealers that wanted a more personalized feel while using the NVD system.
