Hollestic is a cooking/diet app
we worked on for the National Maternity Hospital and the University College of Dublin.

Product Summary

The app allows users to choose from a selection of almost 100 breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack recipes that have been hardcoded into the app.

Also included in the app are encouraging tips for each trimester of pregnancies, advice for good nutrition and physical activity during pregnancy as well as a pregnancy tracker that allows users to track the progress of a baby’s growth week by week by comparing them to fruits of the same size.

Technical Description

Users sign up anonymously for the app. For cost reduction purposes during development, the client requested that we hard code the recipes into the app rather than build an admin to manage them.

As a result, the app did not require an API to be developed as it stores all required user data (including due dates) locally.

There are only local notifications within the app and there are no third party APIs integrated into the codebase.

Interesting Notes:

The client receives weekly analytical reports generated using Google Analytics which feeds into a third party service called Whatagraph. This allows us to generate extremely attractive and informative reports for the client’s review.
